The First Sleep Capsule Hotel In Hong Kong
Long popular in Japan, the first sleep capsule hotel is now opened in Hong Kong. Situated right in Sheung Wan, SLEEEP provides a neat space for travellers and business professionals to lay their head over night at a lower cost than traditional hotels. It is also popular among the working class around Central to take a power nap during lunch time.
"Many busy Hong Kongers struggle with good sleep due to stress and packed schedules. They feel tired even though they have slept as they do not have quality sleep." explained Alex.
Founders Alex Kot and Jun Rivers first developed the SLEEEP concept in response to Harvard's Dean Challenge asking for design proposals to address population challenges in urban environments. "Many busy Hong Kongers struggle with good sleep due to stress and packed schedules. They feel tired even though they have slept as they do not have quality sleep." explained Alex. "We don't just provide a space for sleeping, we provide an hi-tech environment that can promote deep sleep and recharge energy, which can then boost productivity".
